All you need to know about DocMatcher!

Our learning center is designed to help you navigate your way around our site to start matching your way to better health!

Getting Started

Click on Register Here

If you’re a “patient”, click patient and provide your details. See more on how we protect your information Privacy Policy. Check your e-mail and verify your information. Once you are verified you can begin your search.

Searching

On DocMatcher.com, you can search for absolutely anything you might need to find a doctor who is a perfect fit for you. You’ll be surprised what you’ll find. You can perform a basic search and filter down or an advanced search to really specify your needs.

You can perform a search without registering. However, if you want to make an appointment with a doc, message or use the tools, you have to register. Your new doc needs to know who you are. After all, you now know lots about them.

Booking an on-line appointment

That’s a simple one. Choose a doctor then select an open time slot. The doctor’s office will confirm your appointment. If your appointment is very soon or is looming and you haven’t heard back, give them a call to check. You will receive a reminder about your appointment at 1 week, the day before and an hour before your appointment.

Cancelling an Appointment

We all know stuff comes up and you just can’t help it. Be courteous and cancel with reasonable notice. If its last minute, be sure to call the office to cancel, just to make sure they got the message. On the rare occasion that a physician charges for last minute cancellation, their rules still stand. This should be explained when they confirm the appointment but it you have any questions, discuss it in advance. Remember, we want to help improve communication so talk to each other! If you just miss an appointment without attempting to cancel, your doctor can choose to block your ability to make appointments on-line with them. Everyone’s time is important. It just isn’t fair.

Messaging

Once your doctor confirms you as a patient, you can message him/her. We know you are respectful of your doctor’s time, so please only message if you think you really need to communicate something. DO NOT MESSAGE EMERGENCIES! We are yelling because we worry about you and we just can’t be sure your doctor will receive the message in a timely matter. That could cause serious problems if you really had an emergency. Call your doctor directly, call 911 or come to the Emergency Department (who knows you may even see our Founder)!

If you think this sounds okay but your already thinking, “I don’t have time for this” then skip ahead to our “I’m to busy program” and we’ll personally take care of everything to get you started. It takes a twenty-minutes chat and we’ll do the rest! (P.s. you don’t have to be uber-rich or anything to select this option).

Posting your profile

This part is fun!

We hate to insinuate that you are in some way a geek but we are sure that you have achieved. This is your chance to shine.

The more info you provide the more volume you’ll see of people who you enjoy taking care of.

Fee for service menu

We offer this so that you don’t have to deal with insurance companies if you don’t want. You decide what to charge and patient’s will decided if they want to pay it. Our Goody Two-Shoes founder only asks that you please make it somewhat reasonable. It will help people without insurance and will improve your practice!

Affiliate Hospitals

Your hospital is going to love you for this one!

Post their name or website so your patients know where to go to receive their care from you. Advocate your affiliation and boost your hospital’s business.

Partners/Groups

Display the names and specialties of the members of your group or consultants you recommend. This helps patients know the other health professionals they might interact with and your recommendations for consultations. Your colleagues will appreciate the business and will be sure to reciprocate. Also, this helps the Emergency Departments know your preferences.

Posting your own office forms

Go crazy! It’s your page. Post whatever you think your patients might need or what info your front office might require. Have your patient’s post the info to their Virtual Health File or just bring it with them to their visit. We may have to may have to restrict your file’s size and ask that your content is not offensive.

Management Features

Once you subscribe as a DocMatcher.com health professional, you will have access to all of our great features! To begin, access your personal dashboard.

Navigating Your Dashboard

Located on your dashboard, is your own personal calendar that contains your appointments and reminders.

Appointments

When a new or existing patient books an appointment, you (or your staff, whichever information you provide) will receive message both in your inbox and by e-mail letting you know there is a new appointment request.

Confirmations

When you click the link, you’ll be asked to confirm this appointment. Once you select “accept”, an e-mail will be sent to your patient to notify them of the confirmation. Click the link to confirm and accept the appointment. It will then be populated onto your calendar. For your convenience and protect, we ask that you accept a patient by clicking “I accept”, before they are given permission to contact you via messaging. You can do this at the time of booking or if you have not seen the person before, you can wait until after a successful first appointment.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel an appointment, you can try to send a message through our messaging system and ask for confirmation. If you do not receive confirmation, please call your patient directly.

Appointments with Existing Patients

On the far right of your dashboard, is a list of your patients on DocMatcher.com. Ask your existing patients to join DocMatcher.com and select you as their health provider so they too can enjoy on-line appointment booking and virtual communication!

Messaging

Messaging helps you communicate non-urgent matters with your patient. You will receive your messages in your “inbox” and can reply.

If you want to communicate with your patient, just select their name and “send a message”. You can be sure that all messages are safe (See DocMatcher.com’s Security Features). We strongly recommend that you print or copy and paste all communication and place it in the chart for safekeeping. You and your patient should discuss and set “rules” for communication to ensure each other’s privacy and personal boundaries.

If you feel that a patient is misusing the messaging system, you can block them from sending messages at any time. Please discuss this with them so that they can understand the problem and have a chance to adjust their use. If you feel someone is threatening or inappropriate, please take immediate appropriate action for your safety and report the incident to info@DocMatcher.com

Patient Care Templates

Just download any of our templates, tailor them to your patient and help them get better. Patient’s can upload the information back to their virtual health file to track their progress or can bring it to their visit>

Virtual Health Files

To view your patient’s personal health record, select their name from the list on the far right hand of your dashboard You will be able to access their 1) Contact and Insurance Information 2) Medical History 3) Imaging 4) Test Results 5) Recent Visits 6) Notes 7) Health Diaries 8) DocMatch E.R. File

We recommend that every so often you check your patient’s Virtual Health File with them during their office visit to clarify and adjust any discrepancies. It is quite frequent that a patient has forgotten or misunderstood something and has entered it incorrectly. The more the patient updates their file (especially with you), the better their health will be. Just a quick chat can make all the difference in their health and your relationship.
